About the Instructor:

Ustad Shahid Hamid is a renowned vocalist, musicologist and a qualified music teacher. A banker by profession, he has pursued music with a passion, mastering the art of Khayal Gayaki and also semi-classical forms such as Thumri and Dadra. He dedicates most of his time to teaching music and has authored a very valuable book ‘Raag Music’ (published in English and Urdu) which explains at length the intricacies of South Asian classical music.
